Flowers are often referred to as ‘ornamentals’. But they don’t just look good, they can be an essential part of your organic growing. Flowers attract pollinators such as bees, they can be used in companion planting in the veg patch, and some you can even eat. If you’d like to learn how to grow healthy blooms for butterflies or bouquets, this evening course will teach you where and how to grow them.

We will also cover plant choices for your garden, such as herbaceous perennials, shrubs, bulbs or annuals, according to shade, sun, types of soil and a long flowering season so that upon completing the course you'll come away with plenty of ideas for your new garden to enjoy throughout the seasons. A tour of Ryton gardens will also be included as part of the course.
