Learn how to design & create simple pedal-powered generators using regular bicycles to power off grid energy systems. We will use the generators to run a range of appliances including a small projector.

We recommend participants come to our Introduction to Off Grid Energy Systems workshop before attending this workshop (although it's not required).

You will:

  • Learn what energy is - how it works today, and what’s in store for the future
  • Understand the electrical basics: current, voltage, resistance, power, series and parallel circuits.
  • Learn to turn human power into electricity.
  • Know how to choose the right components to build simple electrical circuits.
  • Receive advice for further circuit and systems design and build.
  • Dig deeper into the energy dilemma - and possible solutions
