Secondary school students from Acland Burghley School and UCL Academy will be selling fruit and vegetables that they have grown in their school gardens. The project develops an interest in the environment and food among students, and can help those who struggle with behaviourial issues.
This will be a day of celebration for the students after six months of hard work – learning to grow their own fruit and vegetables at school, nurturing them, learning to cook recipes for the vegetables that they have grown and visiting a local farm to see growing on a commercial scale. They will be developing their enterprise skills and raising money to reinvest into their food education projects.
