We would like to invite you to come and help us design Battersea Arts Centre's exciting new community garden on Town Hall Road.
On 13 March 2015, a fire destroyed our Grand Hall. The support shown to us by our community was overwhelming and helped get us back on our feet. Three years later and following countless acts of kindness, by thousands of people and organisations, we have rebuilt the Grand Hall and would like to recognise the generosity of our community in a shared green space on Town Hall Road.
We'd love to hear your ideas for this space, so are holding a facilitated workshop on 15th August 2018, 6pm-8.30pm at Battersea Arts Centre.
Alongside our partners, Haworth Tompkins Architects and Permablitz, we will be sharing the latest plans for the space. We'd like as much feedback as possible on how to make this space generous to you, our supporters and local community, as well as the activities you'd like to see run in the space. We want to ensure that it is a space led by the community for the benefit of the community and all who visit in the future.
Starting with a short tour of the space for 30 minutes, the evening will then be followed by a facilitated workshop for approximately 1 hour.
We would be delighted if you can make this workshop and there will be some complimentary drinks and nibbles to say thank you for taking part. Please RSVP either by email to[email protected]or by phone 020 7326 8273 by 12th August.
If you have any access requirements*, please do not hesitate to contact us in advance.

The closest station to Battersea Arts Centre is Clapham Junction, which has good wheelchair access and is 0.5 miles away from the venue. Exit the station via the St John’s Hill exit, turn left and head up Lavender Hill. Battersea Arts Centre is on the left-hand side of the road.
The nearest disabled parking spaces to Battersea Arts Centre are in the Asda Car Park on Lavender Hill, which is a 5 minute walk away.
There is step-free access into the main entrance of our building but do be aware there are two sets of doors to move through to enter our foyer, which are not automatic. Our Welcome desk is situated in the foyer, with staff available and happy to help. Our bar/café is step-free from the foyer and our first floor rooms can be reached by a lift and by our main staircase. We have accessible toilets on the ground and first floor.
Psst, we've moved to a new site, with a new name and a new look.Check it out
