About

Calling all community leaders, activists, volunteers and beyond...

It’s hard to get people to notice your community project, and even harder to get them involved, whether you are asking for something or just trying to let them know what you’re offering. But it’s not impossible! There are loads of people trying out some really interesting ideas, from small and simple to big and bold. Discover tips to sharing your story, how to grow your online following, get young people interested, increase corporates' continued support and much more.

This free event is open to anyone who has a project or an idea which could do with a boost. Come and share your experience with others, discuss new ideas, and come away with a plan to get noticed!

This event is run by Project Dirt and Eden Project Communities, we’ve both got loads of experience in getting ideas out there, and want to share what we’ve learned.

Venue

There is on-street parking available near the venue, and the closest Tube, Bus and Rail stations can be found here: www.brixtoncommunitybase.org/how-to-find-us

Food and drink

Tea, coffee and cold drinks will available during the session, as well as a hot vegetarian lunch prepared by Brixton Pound Café, who use surplus food saved from landfill. Donations welcome to help cover costs!

The event is free, but we ask for a fully refundable deposit of £5 which will be returned to you after you attend, you will also get a refund if you cancel your ticket up to 24 hours before the event. We need to do this in order to plan the event and food for the right number of people. If you would like to attend but can't pay the deposit, let us know!

Book your places here.

[If you’ve read this description and don’t think it’s for you, that’s totally fine! But we’d encourage you to ask yourself why. Do let us know, but more importantly think about whether that can help you learn what works and what doesn’t work for your own project or idea.]
