Dalston Eastern Curve Garden

A community garden created in Spring 2010 on the site of a disused railway line in an area of Hackney with no public green space. On approximately one acre of land, there are plantings of birch trees, hazel and butterfly bush and other wildlife friendly planting. The Eastern Curve Gardeners group of volunteers meet weekly to tend the garden and grow food and herbs in raised beds.

Read More>>Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (Circular Economy) This award is open to all initiatives taking a ‘circular economy’ approach to site and project specific resources during 2015-2016, focusing on waste reduction and recycling. Read More>>Best Education Project This award is open to corporate social responsibility programmes that are developed with the aim of expanding learning, enhancing access to information and providing unique academic experiences. These programmes, with a ‘learning’ theme, should engage local schools or other education/training establishments showing creativity and innovation focusing on apprenticeships, equality & inclusion, STEM or the environment and will have been delivered between 2014-2016.
