Planting up our first bed

Taking the bull by the horns we got out there on a patch of tired lawn under a gorgeous tree, and just went for it.  Helped out by a trip to B&Q;'s discount bin, we got together around a dozen annuals, some shrubs and a grass, which should all grow happily into the space.Carefully removing the grass top layet, and putting down bark, have created a beautiful round border, which has caught the eyes of our neighbours.  So much so in fact, that we've already received a donation of one plant with a message "Please help me".Using 'brown' water from baths, we've kept it all going, and convinced some late flowering of our annuals.Fingers crossed we'll be putting in more of these around the place in due course.
