6.30pm drinks & light buffet at Gaia House, 18 Well Walk, Hampstead, NW3 1LD.
7.30pm Talk at Burgh House, NW3 1LT (opposite Gaia House)
Nigel Crawhall, Director of Secretariat for The
Indigenous Peoples of Africa Co-ordinating
Committee (IPACC) will talk about how some
indigenous peoples are responding to climate
change. IPACC’s focus is on how new approaches,
such as participatory mapping, can help
communities link up traditional knowledge and the
memory of elders, with new challenges to cope
with deforestation, desertification and loss of food
security. Community-based Adaptation is a necessity
and can be enhanced by intergenerational sharing
and a favourable climate policy.
