Event Description

River cleanup - removing litter from in the river itself and from the banks.

This cleanup looks likely to involve a lot of heavy work in the water, as well as extensive litter picking along the banks. Please wear heavy-duty waders if you have them, otherwise we can supply some. We can also provide gloves. Strong boots, trainers or wellies are recommended for anyone who wants to work on the banks - and please wear old clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

If you can, please arrive in time for our Health and Safety briefing at 11am. If you arrive later than that, don't worry, and please just make yourself known to one of those in the high viz vests. We’ll have a break at about 1.30 for tea and coffee - you may also wish to bring a sandwich or snack (we will provide hand-washing facilities). We finish the cleanup at 3pm and go to a local pub for those who fancy swapping tales of the day's activities.
