Hi Im Jeni from Transition Town Tooting, I just joined.

I turned my front garden into a veg patch last year and I'm keen to know when events like seed swaps and knowledge shares are happening so I can get advice on growing, cooking and eating my own veg!

Do you guys send much stuff like this out to members on Project Dirt?

Hi all, I'm organising a small harvest party at Slade Gardens on the 15th October. It would be great to get Food Up Front involved, to appear with stalls and info. In particular, it would be great if anyone is prepared to help with preparing or bringing food. We'll be sourcing what we can from people's gardens etc and then the rest from the food co-op in 56A and Brixton Food co-op. Any advice, you can contact me on PD. Cheers!!

I am a freelance costume designer and maker/artist.  I would like to make a difference in the community around me.
I am organizing a pop-up festival in Streatham in March 2011.
It would be awesome to have Food Up Front represented in the festival.  Anyone interested in working
with me on this, please get in touch, either via project dirt or via my
website www.lucilleacevedojones.co.uk
The festival is called 'Here, There and Everywhere'.
The idea is to bring together, to Streatham as many representatives of Lambeth/London-wide environmentally conscious or green activist groups,
to highlight how much is going on and to gain more support for community
led,
environmentally sound initiatives in Streatham by showing residents
all the amazing results and/or skills that can be acquired whilst simultaneously
disseminating information that can enable individuals to make
sustainable choices.

The festival will consist of a series of micro-workshops in various locations around Streatham High Street (participating shops, charity
shops and businesses - cafe's etc) and of a market for local
growers/designers/producers of any kind who all have an interest in
conducting their businesses in an environmentally and ethically aware
manner.  The micro-workshops would be like taster sessions focusing on
small projects achievable in a short time frame or mini-talks/tours that
shed light on particular aspects of the four green action areas: waste,
transport, food and energy.

There are so many inspiring projects happening around Streatham and Lambeth, it would be great to do more to
bring the spotlight to all the projects happening and to inspire more
residents to volunteer and to be creative in how they interact with
their surroundings and community.  Ultimately, with concerted effort, it
would be possible to put Streatham on the map and to create a tangible
feeling of camaraderie between residents and potentially a space for
everyone to feel like it is really possible to make a difference in ones
own life and the life of others, even the life of this world.
I look forward to hearing from you!
With kind regards,

Hi everyone,
Field Power are making carbon-neutral deliveries of our organic, grass-fed, native breeds beef and lamb boxes, which are also carbon neutral - one of the first farm to convert - all our water, water heating, space heating, electricity and fuel utilises renewable sources. You can read about the details here: http://www.bigbarn.co.uk/ or place an order here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Cottage-Farm-Shop. We deliver just once per month, every last Wednesday and quite a few people find it convenient to share a box. And btw, our prices are lower than supermarkets' prices for chemical meat.

Recently I have presented our journey from non-farmers to one of the first organic carbon-neutral beef & lamb farms at The Royal Agricultural College and also at the last Transition Movement's International conference. I would be very happy to combine our next delivery on 25th August (or later deliveries) with a talk/ presentation at a suitable event. Just let me know.
Good luck
Paul
