I am organizing a pop-up festival in Streatham in March 2011.

It would be awesome to have the Telford Park Climate Action Network initiave represented at the festival.

Please get in touch, either via project dirt or via my website www.lucilleacevedojones.co.uk

to find  out more and to discuss how you could be involved.
The festival is called 'Here, There and Everywhere'.
The idea is to bring together, to Streatham as many representatives of London-wide activist groups, to highlight the activity and to gain more support for community
led, environmentally sound initiatives in Streatham by showing
residents all the amazing results and/or skills that can be acquired
whilst simultaneously disseminating information that can enable
sustainable choice.

The festival will consist of a series of micro-workshops in various locations around Streatham High Street and of a market for local growers/designers/producers who are environmentally and ethically
aware.  The micro-workshops would be like taster sessions that shed
light on particular aspects of the four green action areas: waste, transport, food and energy.

There are so many inspiring projects happening everywhere around us in London, it would be great to bring the spotlight to all these and to inspire more residents to volunteer and to be creative in
how they interact with their surroundings and community.  Ultimately,
with concerted effort, it
would be possible to put Streatham on the map and to create a tangible
feeling of camaraderie between residents and potentially a space for
everyone to feel like it is really possible to make a difference in ones
own life and the life of others, even the life of this world.
I look forward to hearing from you!
With kind regards,

The site is described as the Waldorf School of South West London, on the google map. Here is the flyer

Where exactly is this location? I've created a collaborative map of the area. You can see the map by clicking here. Perhaps you could edit the map by adding a placemark where people should meet, or a shape to define the area.
Thanks

Woodfields Open Day and Consultation

Sunday 14th November 11am to 4pm at the Pavilion, access via the gate from Tooting Bec Common.

This site has many possibilities for our local community. It is at the back of Abbotswood Road in Streatham and has access from Abbotswood Road and Tooting Bec Common.

It is a large area and although owned by Lambeth is managed by Wandsworth. Some ideas generated by local groups include: community garden, wildlife/nature area, city farm.

This event is organised by the Friends of Woodfields. Come and express your views and have your say.

One view was that this site would be sold off to Streatham and Clapham High School, to join their playing fields next door but it is our view that this would not benefit many of the local community.
