How do you describe a festival whose contributors range from a poet wielding a scythe, to a former banker who wants to organise a mortgage strike, to an ex-Wikileaks hacker who’s been rigging up improvised internet services in Afghanistan, lessons in foraging and brewing, midnight theatre in the woods, a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Luddites, sessions on the future of the university and the publishing industry?
Guests at this year’s festival include Jay Griffiths (‘Wild’), Melanie Challenger (‘On Extinction’), Smari McCarthy (ex-Wikileaks), Ella Saitta (Dymaxion.org), Warren Draper, Rachel Horne, Dearbhaile Bailey, Simon Fairlie (‘The Land’ magazine), Maddy Harland (‘Permaculture’ magazine), Vinay Gupta (The Hexayurt Project), Fergus ‘The Forager’ Drennan, Tom Hirons, Rima Staines, Mario Petrucci, Adrienne Odasso, Alex Fradera, John Mitchinson (QI/Unbound), Andy Hamilton, Anton Shelupanov, Nick Hunt, Sharon Blackie (Two Ravens Press), Susan Richardson and many others.

Hi Seb,
this is Martin, you met me and my girlfriend Sanne in Morocco a few years ago. Glad to see your projects flourishing!
We're in London this weekend visiting San's relatives and unfortunately I lost your email address so after some googling I found this page. I was hoping that we could maybe meet up on Sunday or Monday. I do realise this is very short notice and you're probably busy but if you do have some time to spare San and I would love to see you and Martha again. I do hope you're still together! Anyways you can reach us at Martinus.Barrett@gmail.com. As soon as I actually get a garden of my own I will make it a priority to grow small potatoes ASAP!
[About my garden and filling in the capital growth form]
Due to being insecure with paper work i'm not very good with forms and i'd like to try and get the full fund as i will take this urban garden project all the way, keep you up to date with the progress and make it become a great community garden as it's something special. It's next to Sydenham well park, it's a detached house with a five year rent contract, garden size is 30 by 100 feet.
So far i have managed to purchase a greenhouse 16 b 8 feet for £60.00 due to damage glass i need to pay a lot for new glass. I know how to run a poly tunnel as i run a landscape business i have a lot of back up tools and a great garage entrance to the garden. I'd like to get an additional poly tunnel as there is plenty of room and very good relationship with all neighbours. So without trying to sell myself anymore with some additional funding for compost bins and irrigation system do you think i might managed to get funding for this project. I can give a list of 10 local house holds who will be willing to project mange this project and eat the fruits of the crop. So far three families get food but with a finished greenhouse and polytunnel we can do so much more.
If you wish to talk i'm at 21 Longton Avenue sydenham 07525819885.
If you every need help with ideas on projects or cooking for up to 3000 people you can ask me for my technician skills and help to run the kitchen.
Kind regards jake
Hi Seb,
It looks as if we are friends on project dirt at one time i ask you to be my friend, i think this was to remind me i wished to tell you about my community garden and ask you, before i aim to fill in the capital growth form your advice as a project dirt friend.
One of the main reason i'd wish to apply for funding would be in sync with reminding people what a great urban space we have and how far we have taken this project in just 6 months. I have a strong background in pulling together from nothing small projects. the garden I'm using is in a very large rented property with five apartments. One day I wish to get this house as a housing coop. I'm part of a group, we have be doing charity work for many years. But are the only group who is a non fund raising charity non profit charity. (I'm sure there might be others out there)
So i'm helping our group understand how to run our dormant housing coop. I'm in the middle of changing the name to Local Community Connect housing coop. Even though the charity will never take any funding i feel we can do much more on a community basis if our housing coop works on equal level with alll other community based projects getting off the ground as to have something like a capital growth flag then everyone begins to see your part of the play.If you have managed to put some time aside to get this far through my dyslexic waffle, i thank you for your patients this taken me quite some time and strength to get this far but i'm up early so i'll continue. email continues next page. Jake
Blagged seeds last year but they were from Suttons, and I want to go completely organic this year.
Cheers
