About Me / My Interest in Green Projects:
Our aim is to grow herbs on a commercial basis to sell to local restaurants and become a self-sustaining growing project. Revenue from the sale of the crops will be spent on greening other areas of the Wenlock Barn estate.

We're very grateful to Ander from Hackney Recycling for arranging a delivery of LOTS of compost to the gardens, to Travis Perkins (Stoke Newington Tool Hire) for lending us wheel barrows, and to the East Reservoir for lending us shovels! Also to Shelley at Business Link for finding us volunteers!

19th April - filling the beds!

We spent Monday getting the beds ready for planting! A big thank you to Amy and Hervet who helped:-) We'll hopefully have our seeds and plants by Friday so Michael and Simon are looking forward to planting and getting the water hooked up this Friday:-)…

17th April - Shifting all that Compost!

We couldn't have asked for better weather to move all the compost that Hackney Council delivered in the morning. We still have more to move... some of it is being used for the herb garden and some of it for the foraging garden that the Growing Kitchen Resident Group is planning to develop this Spring on the same estate but on Shaftesbury Street:-)…

Open Day

We had an open day on 6th March ahead of digging and planting on Saturday 6th March

and it went really well - enthusiasm all round from local residents and we received lots of positive feedback on the planting plan for the site:)…
