About the opportunity

St Luke’s Gardening Group meet 2-3.30pm every Tuesday. Come along and develop your green fingers with this fun, friendly group. Meet on the first floor terrace if it’s warm enough or if not the Club Room (indoors, and also on the first floor). Session ends with tea and biscuits together. No specialist knowledge or experience needed. Instruction will be given on the day.

About the project

A community garden created out of a car park at the back of the community centre. Over 70 small raised beds are available to local people to grow their own food. Regular training events and work days are held.

Volunteering impact


Those who volunteer will receive the benefits of being with nature, and working together with others. Those using the Community Centre will benefit from the improved gardens and the visitors to the cafe, who sit out on the terrace will also benefit from your work.
