About the opportunity

Composting, Conservation, Education, Gardening, Health & Wellbeing, Permaculture, Volunteering

Come and help us build and grow at the Eco Park, Porthtowan every Friday. Followed by a free lunch. Learn more about growing organic fruit and veg on the allotment with horticulturalist Marie. Be part of low-impact building projects such as rammed earth building and cob constructions. Get involved in tree planting and pruning willow coppicing and weaving. Help with preparing the site for our annual festival Tropical Pressure by building pallet planters, recycled tyres planters or weaving frames for climbing plants. We ask that volunteers can commit to a full mornings work, arriving from 9am to be out on the land at 9:30 with a delicious free lunch at 1:30pm. Gloves and tools are provided but we ask volunteers to wear appropriate clothing and good shoes or boots. It's a benefit if volunteers support for the ideologies and ethos of the Eco Park and are willing to get stuck into new projects.

Volunteer Friday is a great opportunity to get out on the land and meet new people in a beautiful cliff top location. We welcome long term volunteers or people who would like to come along occasionally. Suitable for anyone who would like to meet other like minded people, be out on the land doing practical meaningful tasks around the Eco Park. It's a great opportunity to learn more about organic growing from Marie our expert organic horticulturalist who used to run an organic veg box scheme in St Agnes down the road.
